1500 LB Mini Rods
1.Maximum weight of mini rod and driver shall be 1500 lbs. All drivers of the mini rod class must have a valid drivers license and helmet with chin straps securely fastened.

2.Mini rods are not to be over 54" wide and no longer than 6' between axles, no mini rod shall exceed 8' in overall length.

3.No turbo chargers or blowers allowed.

4.A kill switch must be attached to the center of the mini rod behind the driver and in a position so it can be easily hooked and unhooked to the sled on all pulls.

5.All mini rods will have a battery disconnect switch located within the drivers reach and must be reached easily by track officials in case of a problem. This switch must be in battery line before going to the starter and kill all power to the unit.

6.Rims are not to exceed 12" in diameter, tires are not to exceed 12" in width and 26" in height.

7.Contest is open to entries with rubber tires, no 4WD’S permitted, no dual wheels, tires studs, cleats, chains or paddle tires allowed.

8.All power must be transmitted through the wheels.

9.All belts and clutches must be adequately shielded by a board approved shield.

10.It is mandatory that all mini rods have an adequate safety device (wheelie bars) to prevent it from turning over. This device must be adequate to support the weight of the mini rod. First time pullers will be required to have the above mentioned safety devices.

11.Wheelie bars and weights must be attached so as not to interfere with the hooking and unhooking of the sled chain to the drawbar.

12.Drawbars are to be stationary in all movement and are to be constructed from 1 ½" hole.

13.Maximum hitch height is 13" from the top of hitching device parallel to the ground.

14.Point of hitch shall not extend past vertical plane of the rear tires. Hitch must be constructed in such a manner as not to restrict fast hooking and unhooking. Maximum depth from point of hook to back of drawbar is 3/4" minimum, depth is ½".

15.No portion of the mini rod shall interfere with the hook of the sled during the pull.

16.All exhaust must discharge vertical at least 12" above bend and be securely attached.

17.All weights, weight brackets or boxes must be safely secured to the mini rod and not extend beyond the rear tires. No weights in the seat or on the hood, any weights, etc. lost while hooked to the sled will be cause for disqualification.

18.All mini rods must be equipped with brakes in workable condition and must have a working reverse gear.

19.All vehicles must have a minimum of 2 pound ABC with gauge dry chemical fire extinguisher secured to the vehicle and convenient to the driver.

20.Hand throttles must be string loaded. Motor must come to an idle when hand is taken off the throttle.

21.All drive line u-joints must be enclosed 360 degrees. Shield is to be 1/16" thick steel or 1/8" aluminum. Shield should be close enough to the joint to restrain any broken parts. Joint should not be visible from side, top or bottom. Each drive shaft must have a minimum of 2 loops. If vehicle has a shaft between the transmission and the rear end no longer than 24" on loop properly centered. Two shaft pieces must have 4 loops. Loop location to be less than 6" and no more than 12" on solid end of shaft and 1" past stud on end with slip joint so if the slip joint breaks the shaft cannot drop. Loop material made of aluminum shall be 1/4" thick. Maximum clearance to be 2" horizontally and 8" both ways vertically.

22.The use of torque converters and automatic shifts, etc. will be permitted.

23.All automatics must have a park/neutral safety switch and manuals must have a clutch switch.

24.Automatics must have approved blankets or be shielded 360 degrees with 1/4" steel or aluminum, minimum of 4" wide. Any substitute for the above safety equipment must be approved by the officials.

25.NO PASSENGERS (DRIVERS ONLY) NO EXCEPTIONS.

26.If you are 1st puller and you pull out of bounds you do not get the option of a repull, also if you are 1st puller and want to take advantage of your repull option you must tell the officials immediately following your pull you cannot wait for others to pull before stating you want to repull.
