1800 LB Mini Rods
1.Maximum weight 1800 lb mini rod and driver shall be 1800 lbs.

2.All drivers of the big mini rod class must have a valid drivers license and helmet, with chin straps properly fastened.

3.Big mini rods are not to exceed 6' in width and 8' in length from center of rear axle to furthest point forward, including weights and fuel tank.

4.A kill switch must be attached to the center of the rod behind the driver and in a position so it can be easily hooked and unhooked. The kill switch shall pull at no less than 8lbs. and no more than 25lbs.

5.all big mini rods will have a battery disconnect switch located within the drivers reach and must be reached easily by track officials in case of a problem. This switch must be in battery line before going to the starter and kill all power to the vehicle.

6.maximum tire size 31x15.50x15.

7.All big mini rods must have back up lights.

8.Engines must be covered from top of pan to bottom of the heads and the length of the engine with gauge steel or aluminum.

9.Exhaust pipes must extend no less than 12" above the bend. They can lay out no more than 10 degrees and back no more than 30 degrees.

10.All throttles must pull forward and return to idle. No hydraulic or air throttles.

11.All vehicles must have2 return springs on throttle.

12.Back tires must have fenders that are a minimum of 4", sides a minimum of 18" long.

13.No pressurized fuels allowed.

14.ENGINES MUST BE SMALL BLOCK DESIGN ONLY.

15.No turbo chargers or blowers allowed.

16.Must have roll cage or roll bar, with seat belt or safety harness.

17.Contest is open to entries with rubber tires.

18.No 4WD’S permitted.

19.No dual wheels, tire studs, cleats, chains or paddle tires allowed.

20.All power must be transmitted through the wheels.

21.All belts & clutches must be adequately shielded by a board approved shield.

22.It is mandatory that all vehicles, mini rods, big mini rods and trucks have an adequate safety device (wheelie bars) to prevent it from turning over.

23.Wheelie bars & weights must be attached so as not to interfere with the hooking and unhooking to the sled chain to the drawbar.

24.Drawbars are to be stationary in all movement and are to be constructed from minimum 3/16" steel and have a minimum 1 ½" hole.

25.Maximum hitch height is 13" from top of hitching device parallel to the ground. All hitches will be checked before pulling.

26.Point of hitch shall not extend beyond vertical plane of the rear tires. Hitch must be constructed in such a manner as not to restrict fast hooking and unhooking. Maximum depth from point of hook to back of drawbar is 3/4" minimum, depth is ½".

27.No portion of the entry shall interfere with the hook of the sled during the pull.

28.All entries must be equipped with working brakes and reverse.

29.All vehicles must have a minimum of 2 pound ABC with gauge dry chemical fire extinguisher secured to the vehicle and convenient to the driver.

30.All driveline u-joints to be enclosed 360 degrees. Shield is to be 1/16" thick steel or 1/8" aluminum. Shield should be close enough to joint to restrain any broken parts. Joint should not be visible from side, top, or bottom. Each drive shaft must have a minimum of 2 loops. If vehicle has a shaft between transmission and rear end no longer than 24" on loop properly centered. 2 piece shafts must have 4 loops. Loop location to be no less than 6" and no more than 12" on solid end of shaft and 1" past stud on end with slip joint or 3 loops evenly spaced so that if the slip joint breaks the shaft cannot drop. Loop material made of no less than 3/4" wide 1/8" thick. Maximum clearances to be 2" horizontally and 8" both ways vertically.

31.The use of torque converters and automatic shifts, etc. will be permitted.

32.All automatics must have a park/neutral safety switch and manuals must have a clutch switch.

33.Automatics must have approved blankets or be shielded 360 degrees with 1/4" steel or aluminum, minimum 4" wide. Any substitute for the above safety equipment must be approved by the officials.

34.All flywheels must have a steel flywheel with SFI approved housing or the housing must be shielded 360 degrees round and across the front with 1/4" steel or 3/8" aluminum.

35.A deflection shield is required on both sides of all engines. Shield must extend the complete length of block and be securely fastened. Shielding on engines must extend from base to head or the uppermost point of the piston travel to 2" below bottom center of crankshaft throw and be securely fastened. Shield is to be made of aluminum or steel, a minimum of 060 thick or blanket material.

36.All vehicle engines equipped with a harmonic balancer or steel hub shall be shrouded with 14" steel or 3/8" aluminum, no more than 1" away in direction of rotation, 360 degrees, to be securely fastened with a minimum of 2 ears, each extending 1" in front of hub.

37.All engine driven fans must have 1/16" minimum metal 360 degrees around the blade. Shroud shall be no more than 1" from radiator core and 1/4" past rear of blade.

38.All drive line brakes shall be shielded 360 degrees with 1/4" steel 4" wide.

39.If you are 1st puller and you pull out of bounds you do not get the option of a repull, also if you are 1st puller and want to take advantage of your repull option you must tell the officials immediately following your pull you cannot wait for others to pull before stating you want to repull.

40.NO PASSENGERS (DRIVERS ONLY) NO EXCEPTIONS.
